BNV : দায়ূদ যখন রাজা ছিলেন তখন একটা দুর্ভিক্ষ হয়েছিল| সেই দুর্ভিক্ষ কবলিত অনাহারের দিন টানা তিন বছর চলেছিল| দায়ূদ প্রভুর কাছে প্রার্থনা করলেন এবং প্রভু তার উত্তর দিলেন| প্রভু বললেন, “শৌল এবং তার খুনী পরিবারই এই দুর্ভিক্ষের কারণ| শৌল গিবিয়োনীযদের মেরে ফেলেছে বলে এই দুর্ভিক্ষ এসেছে|”
KJV : Then there was a famine in the days of David three years, year after year; and David enquired of the LORD. And the LORD answered, [It is] for Saul, and for [his] bloody house, because he slew the Gibeonites.
YLT : And there is a famine in the days of David three years, year after year, and David seeketh the face of Jehovah, and Jehovah saith, `For Saul and for the bloody house, because that he put to death the Gibeonites.`
RV : And there was a famine in the days of David three years, year after year; and David sought the face of the LORD. And the LORD said, It is for Saul, and for his bloody house, because he put to death the Gibeonites.

ERVEN : While David was king, there was a famine that continued for three years. So David prayed to the Lord. And the Lord answered, "Saul and his family of murderers are the reason for the famine, because he killed the Gibeonites."

BNV : গিবিয়োনীয়রা ইস্রাযেলী ছিল না| তারা ইমোরীয়দের একটি গোষ্ঠী| ইস্রায়েলীয়রা শপথ করেছিল যে তারা গিবিয়োনীয়দের আঘাত করবে না| কিন্তু শৌল গিবিযোনীযদের হত্যা করার চেষ্টা করেছিল| শৌল এ কাজ করেছিল কারণ ইস্রাযেল এবং যিহূদার লোকদের সম্পর্কে তার ভাবানুভূতি অত্যন্ত তীব্র ছিল|রাজা দায়ূদ গিবিয়োনীযদের একসঙ্গে ডেকে তাদের সঙ্গে কথা বললেন|
KJV : And the king called the Gibeonites, and said unto them; (now the Gibeonites [were] not of the children of Israel, but of the remnant of the Amorites; and the children of Israel had sworn unto them: and Saul sought to slay them in his zeal to the children of Israel and Judah.)
YLT : And the king calleth for the Gibeonites, and saith unto them -- as to the Gibeonites, they [are] not of the sons of Israel, but of the remnant of the Amorite, and the sons of Israel had sworn to them, and Saul seeketh to smite them in his zeal for the sons of Israel and Judah --

RSV : So the king called the Gibeonites. Now the Gibeonites were not of the people of Israel, but of the remnant of the Amorites; although the people of Israel had sworn to spare them, Saul had sought to slay them in his zeal for the people of Israel and Judah.
ASV : And the king called the Gibeonites, and said unto them (now the Gibeonites were not of the children of Israel, but of the remnant of the Amorites; and the children of Israel had sworn unto them: and Saul sought to slay them in his zeal for the children of Israel and Judah);
ESV : So the king called the Gibeonites and spoke to them. Now the Gibeonites were not of the people of Israel but of the remnant of the Amorites. Although the people of Israel had sworn to spare them, Saul had sought to strike them down in his zeal for the people of Israel and Judah.
ERVEN : (The Gibeonites were not Israelites. They were a group of Amorites. The Israelites had promised not to hurt them, but Saul tried to kill the Gibeonites. He did this because of his strong feelings for the people of Israel and Judah.) King David called the Gibeonites together and talked to them.

BNV : দায়ূদ গিবিয়োনীয়দের বললেন, “তোমাদের জন্য আমি কি করতে পারি? ইস্রায়েলের পাপ খণ্ডনের জন্য আমি কি করলে তোমরা প্রভুর সন্তানদের আশীর্বাদ করবে?”
KJV : Wherefore David said unto the Gibeonites, What shall I do for you? and wherewith shall I make the atonement, that ye may bless the inheritance of the LORD?
YLT : yea, David saith unto the Gibeonites, `What do I do for you? and with what do I make atonement? and bless ye the inheritance of Jehovah.`
RV : and David said unto the Gibeonites, What shall I do for you? and wherewith shall I make atonement, that ye may bless the inheritance of the LORD?
RSV : And David said to the Gibeonites, "What shall I do for you? And how shall I make expiation, that you may bless the heritage of the LORD?"

ERVEN : David said to the Gibeonites, "What can I do for you? What can I do to take away Israel's sin, so that you can bless the Lord's people?"

BNV : গিবিয়োনীয়রা দায়ূদকে বলল, “শৌলের পরিবারের লোকরা যা করেছে তার মূল্য দেওয়ার জন্য তাদের পরিবারের য়থেষ্ট সোনা ও রূপো নেই| কিন্তু আমাদের কোন অধিকার নেই যে ইস্রায়েলের কোন লোককে হত্যা করি|”দায়ূদ বলল, “বেশ, তা হলে আমি তোমাদের জন্য কি করব?”
KJV : And the Gibeonites said unto him, We will have no silver nor gold of Saul, nor of his house; neither for us shalt thou kill any man in Israel. And he said, What ye shall say, [that] will I do for you.
YLT : And the Gibeonites say to him, `We have no silver and gold by Saul and by his house, and we have no man to put to death in Israel;` and he saith, `What ye are saying I do to you.`
RV : And the Gibeonites said unto him, It is no matter of silver or gold between us and Saul, or his house; neither is it for us to put any man to death in Israel. And he said, What ye shall say, that will I do for you.
RSV : The Gibeonites said to him, "It is not a matter of silver or gold between us and Saul or his house; neither is it for us to put any man to death in Israel." And he said, "What do you say that I shall do for you?"
ASV : And the Gibeonites said unto him, It is no matter of silver or gold between us and Saul, or his house; neither is it for us to put any man to death in Israel. And he said, What ye shall say, that will I do for you.
ESV : The Gibeonites said to him, "It is not a matter of silver or gold between us and Saul or his house; neither is it for us to put any man to death in Israel." And he said, "What do you say that I shall do for you?"
ERVEN : The Gibeonites said to David, "There isn't enough gold and silver for Saul's family to pay for what they did. But we don't have the right to kill anyone else in Israel." David said, "Well, what can I do for you?"

BNV : গিবিয়োনীয়রা উত্তর দিল, “শৌল আমাদের বিরুদ্ধে ষড়যন্ত্র করেছে| আমাদের যত লোক ইস্রায়েলে বাস করে তাদের সকলকে সে হত্যা করতে চেয়েছিল|
KJV : And they answered the king, The man that consumed us, and that devised against us [that] we should be destroyed from remaining in any of the coasts of Israel,
YLT : And they say unto the king, `The man who consumed us, and who devised against us -- we have been destroyed from stationing ourselves in all the border of Israel --

ERVEN : The Gibeonites said to King David, "The person who plotted against us was Saul. He is the one who tried to destroy all our people living in the land of Israel.

BNV : শৌলের ছেলে-মেয়েদের মধ্যে থেকে সাতটি পুত্র আমাদের দাও| শৌল প্রভুর মনোনীত রাজা ছিল| তাই আমরা শৌলের গিবিয়া পর্বতে, প্রভুর সামনে তার ছেলেদের ফাঁসি দেব|”রাজা দায়ূদ বললেন, “উত্তম, তাদের আমি তোমাদের হাতে সঁপে দেব|”
KJV : Let seven men of his sons be delivered unto us, and we will hang them up unto the LORD in Gibeah of Saul, [whom] the LORD did choose. And the king said, I will give [them. ]
YLT : let there be given to us seven men of his sons, and we have hanged them before Jehovah, in the height of Saul, the chosen of Jehovah.` And the king saith, `I do give;`
RV : let seven men of his sons be delivered unto us, and we will hang them up unto the LORD in Gibeah of Saul, the chosen of the LORD; And the king said, I will give them.
RSV : let seven of his sons be given to us, so that we may hang them up before the LORD at Gibeon on the mountain of the LORD." And the king said, "I will give them."
ASV : let seven men of his sons be delivered unto us, and we will hang them up unto Jehovah in Gibeah of Saul, the chosen of Jehovah. And the king said, I will give them.
ESV : let seven of his sons be given to us, so that we may hang them before the LORD at Gibeah of Saul, the chosen of the LORD." And the king said, "I will give them."
ERVEN : Give us seven of Saul's sons. Saul was the Lord's chosen king, so we will hang his sons in front of the Lord on Mount Gibeah of Saul." King David said, "All right, I will give them to you."

BNV : কিন্তু য়োনাথনের পুত্র মফীবোশতকে রাজা নিরাপত্তা দিলেন| য়োনাথনও শৌলের পুত্র, কিন্তু রাজা য়োনাথনের কাছে প্রভুর নামে একটি শপথ গ্রহণ করেছিলেন|
KJV : But the king spared Mephibosheth, the son of Jonathan the son of Saul, because of the LORD’S oath that [was] between them, between David and Jonathan the son of Saul.
YLT : and the king hath pity on Mephibosheth son of Jonathan, son of Saul, because of the oath of Jehovah that [is] between them, between David and Jonathan son of Saul;
RV : But the king spared Mephibosheth, the son of Jonathan the son of Saul, because of the LORD-S oath that was between them, between David and Jonathan the son of Saul.

ASV : But the king spared Mephibosheth, the son of Jonathan the son of Saul, because of Jehovahs oath that was between them, between David and Jonathan the son of Saul.
ESV : But the king spared Mephibosheth, the son of Saul's son Jonathan, because of the oath of the LORD that was between them, between David and Jonathan the son of Saul.
ERVEN : But the king protected Jonathan's son, Mephibosheth. Jonathan was Saul's son, and David had made a promise in the Lord's name to Jonathan. So the king did not let them hurt Mephibosheth.

BNV : দায়ূদ অর্মোণি এবং মফীবোশতকেতাদের হাতে তুলে দিলেন| এরা ছিল শৌল এবং তার স্ত্রী রিস্পার পুত্র| মেরাব নামে শৌলের এক কন্যাও ছিল| মহোলাতীয বর্সিল্লযের পুত্র অদ্রীযেলের সঙ্গে তার বিয়ে হয়েছিল| দায়ূদ মেরাব এবং অদ্রীযেলের পাঁচ ছেলেকে নিলেন|
KJV : But the king took the two sons of Rizpah the daughter of Aiah, whom she bare unto Saul, Armoni and Mephibosheth; and the five sons of Michal the daughter of Saul, whom she brought up for Adriel the son of Barzillai the Meholathite:
YLT : and the king taketh the two sons of Rizpah daughter of Aiah, whom she bore to Saul, Armoni and Mephibosheth, and the five sons of Michal daughter of Saul whom she bare to Adriel son of Barzillai the Meholathite,

ERVEN : David gave them Armoni and Mephibosheth. These were the sons of Saul and Rizpah. Saul also had a daughter named Merab who was married to Adriel son of Barzillai, from Meholah. David took the five sons of Merab and Adriel.

BNV : দায়ূদ এই সাতজন পুরুষকে গিবিয়োনীয়দের দিয়ে দিলেন যারা তাদের গিবিয়া পর্বতে নিয়ে গিয়েছিল এবং প্রভুর সামনে ফাঁসি দিয়েছিল| এই সাতজন পুরুষ একই সঙ্গে মারা গেল| ফসল তোলার প্রথম দিকেই তাদের হত্যা করা হল| সময়টা ছিল বসন্তকাল এবং এটা ছিল য়বের ফসল তোলার গোড়ার দিকে|
KJV : And he delivered them into the hands of the Gibeonites, and they hanged them in the hill before the LORD: and they fell [all] seven together, and were put to death in the days of harvest, in the first [days,] in the beginning of barley harvest.

ERVEN : David gave these seven men to the Gibeonites who then brought them to Mount Gibeah and hanged them in front of the Lord. Those seven men died together in the spring, during the first days of the barley harvest.

BNV : অযার কন্যা রিস্পা দুঃখের পোশাক গ্রহণ করল এবং শিলার উপরে তা রাখল| চাষবাসের শুরুর সময় থেকে বৃষ্টি আসা পর্য়ন্ত সেই দুঃখের পোশাক সেই পাথরেই পড়ে রইল| রিস্পা দিনরাত সেই দেহগুলি পাহারা দিত| দিনের বেলায কোন হিংস্র পাখী বা রাতের বেলায কোন হিংস্র প্রাণীকে সে দেহগুলির কাছে আসতে দিত না|
KJV : And Rizpah the daughter of Aiah took sackcloth, and spread it for her upon the rock, from the beginning of harvest until water dropped upon them out of heaven, and suffered neither the birds of the air to rest on them by day, nor the beasts of the field by night.
YLT : And Rizpah daughter of Aiah taketh the sackcloth, and stretcheth it out for herself on the rock, from the commencement of harvest till water hath been poured out upon them from the heavens, and hath not suffered a fowl of the heavens to rest upon them by day, or the beast of the field by night.

ESV : Then Rizpah the daughter of Aiah took sackcloth and spread it for herself on the rock, from the beginning of harvest until rain fell upon them from the heavens. And she did not allow the birds of the air to come upon them by day, or the beasts of the field by night.
ERVEN : Rizpah the daughter of Aiah took a mourning cloth and put it on the rock. That cloth stayed on the rock from the time the harvest began until the rains came. Rizpah watched the bodies day and night. She protected them from the wild birds during the day and the wild animals at night.

BNV : শৌলের দাসী রিস্পা যা করছে, সে সম্পর্কে লোকরা রাজা দায়ূদকে বলল|
KJV : And it was told David what Rizpah the daughter of Aiah, the concubine of Saul, had done.
YLT : And it is declared to David that which Rizpah daughter of Aiah, concubine of Saul, hath done,

BNV : তখন রাজা দায়ূদ শৌল ও য়োনাথনের হাড়গুলো যাবেশ গিলিয়দের কাছে থেকে নিয়ে নিলেন| শৌল ও য়োনাথনের গিল্বোযাতে মৃত্যুর পর যাবেশ গিলিয়দরা সেই হাড়গুলি এনেছিল| পলেষ্টীয়রা শৌল ও য়োনাথনের দেহ দুটি বৈত্‌শানের (নিকটস্থ) দেওয়ালে ঝুলিয়ে রেখেছিল| কিন্তু বৈত্‌শানের লোকরা সেখানে গিয়ে দেহগুলি চুরি করে আনে|
KJV : And David went and took the bones of Saul and the bones of Jonathan his son from the men of Jabesh-gilead, which had stolen them from the street of Beth-shan, where the Philistines had hanged them, when the Philistines had slain Saul in Gilboa:
YLT : and David goeth and taketh the bones of Saul, and the bones of Jonathan his son, from the possessors of Jabesh-Gilead, who had stolen them from the broad place of Beth-Shan, where the Philistines hanged them, in the day of the Philistines smiting Saul in Gilboa;

RSV : David went and took the bones of Saul and the bones of his son Jonathan from the men of Jabeshgilead, who had stolen them from the public square of Bethshan, where the Philistines had hanged them, on the day the Philistines killed Saul on Gilboa;
ASV : And David went and took the bones of Saul and the bones of Jonathan his son from the men of Jabesh-gilead, who had stolen them from the street of Beth-shan, where the Philistines had hanged them, in the day that the Philistines slew Saul in Gilboa;
ESV : David went and took the bones of Saul and the bones of his son Jonathan from the men of Jabesh-gilead, who had stolen them from the public square of Beth-shan, where the Philistines had hanged them, on the day the Philistines killed Saul on Gilboa.
ERVEN : Then David took the bones of Saul and Jonathan from the men of Jabesh Gilead. (The men of Jabesh Gilead got these bones after Saul and Jonathan were killed at Gilboa. The Philistines had hanged the bodies of Saul and Jonathan on a wall in Beth Shan. But the men of Beth Shan went there and stole the bodies from that public area.)

BNV : যাবেশ গিলিয়দের কাছ থেকে দায়ূদ শৌল এবং তার পুত্র য়োনাথনের হাড়গুলি নিয়ে আসেন| সেই সাত জন যাদের ফাঁসি দিয়ে হত্যা করা হয়েছিল, তাদের দেহও তারা নিয়ে গিয়েছিল|

BNV : শৌল এবং য়োনাথনের হাড় তারা বিন্যামীন দেশে কবরস্থ করল| শৌলের পিতা কীশের কবরের মধ্যে তারা তাদের কবর দিল| রাজা যা যা বলেছিলেন, লোকরা ঠিক তাই তাই করল| তাই ঈশ্বর সেই দেশের লোকর প্রার্থনা শুনলেন|
KJV : And the bones of Saul and Jonathan his son buried they in the country of Benjamin in Zelah, in the sepulchre of Kish his father: and they performed all that the king commanded. And after that God was intreated for the land.
YLT : and bury the bones of Saul and of Jonathan his son in the land of Benjamin, in Zelah, in the burying-place of Kish his father, and do all that the king commanded, and God is entreated for the land afterwards.
RV : And they buried the bones of Saul and Jonathan his son in the country of Benjamin in Zela, in the sepulchre of Kish his father: and they performed all that the king commanded. And after that God was entreated for the land.

ASV : And they buried the bones of Saul and Jonathan his son in the country of Benjamin in Zela, in the sepulchre of Kish his father: and they performed all that the king commanded. And after that God was entreated for the land.
ESV : And they buried the bones of Saul and his son Jonathan in the land of Benjamin in Zela, in the tomb of Kish his father. And they did all that the king commanded. And after that God responded to the plea for the land.
ERVEN : They buried the bones of Saul and his son Jonathan in the area of Benjamin, in one of the tunnels in the grave of Saul's father Kish, as the king commanded. After that God again listened to the prayers of the people in that land.

BNV : পলেষ্টীয়রা ইস্রায়েলীয়দের সঙ্গে আর একটি যুদ্ধে লিপ্ত হল| দায়ূদ এবং তার লোকরা পলেষ্টীয়দের সঙ্গে লড়াই করতে গেলেন| কিন্তু দায়ূদ প্রচণ্ড ক্লান্ত ও দুর্বল হয়ে পড়লেন|
KJV : Moreover the Philistines had yet war again with Israel; and David went down, and his servants with him, and fought against the Philistines: and David waxed faint.
YLT : And again have the Philistines war with Israel, and David goeth down, and his servants with him, and they fight with the Philistines; and David is weary,

ESV : There was war again between the Philistines and Israel, and David went down together with his servants, and they fought against the Philistines. And David grew weary.
ERVEN : The Philistines started another war with Israel. David and his men went out to fight the Philistines, but David became very tired and weak.

BNV : য়িশ্বী-বনোব একজন দৈত্য ছিল| তার বর্শার ওজন ছিল প্রায 7.5 পাউণ্ড পিতল| তার একটা নতুন তরবারি ছিল| সে দায়ূদকে হত্যা করার চেষ্টা করল|
KJV : And Ishbi-benob, which [was] of the sons of the giant, the weight of whose spear [weighed] three hundred [shekels] of brass in weight, he being girded with a new [sword,] thought to have slain David.
YLT : and Ishbi-Benob, who [is] among the children of the giant -- the weight of his spear [is] three hundred [shekels] weight of brass, and he is girded with a new one -- speaketh of smiting David,

ESV : And Ishbi-benob, one of the descendants of the giants, whose spear weighed three hundred shekels of bronze, and who was armed with a new sword, thought to kill David.
ERVEN : Ishbi Benob was one of the giants. His spear weighed about 7 pounds. Ishbi Benob was wearing his new weapons and tried to kill David,

BNV : কিন্তু সরূযার পুত্র অবীশয সেই পলেষ্টীয়কে হত্যা করে দায়ূদকে বাঁচিয়ে দিল|তখন দায়ূদের লোকরা দায়ূদের কাছে একটা শপথ করল| তারা তাঁকে বলল, “আপনি আর কোনভাবেই আমাদের সঙ্গে যুদ্ধে যেতে পারবেন না| যদি যান তাহলে ইস্রাযেল হয়তো তার মহান নেতাকে হারাবে|”
KJV : But Abishai the son of Zeruiah succoured him, and smote the Philistine, and killed him. Then the men of David sware unto him, saying, Thou shalt go no more out with us to battle, that thou quench not the light of Israel.
YLT : and Abishai son of Zeruiah giveth help to him, and smiteth the Philistine, and putteth him to death; then swear the men of David to him, saying, `Thou dost not go out again with us to battle, nor quench the lamp of Israel.`

ESV : But Abishai the son of Zeruiah came to his aid and attacked the Philistine and killed him. Then David's men swore to him, "You shall no longer go out with us to battle, lest you quench the lamp of Israel."
ERVEN : but Abishai son of Zeruiah killed the Philistine and saved David's life. Then David's men made a special promise to him. They said, "You cannot go out with us to battle anymore. If you do, Israel might lose its greatest leader."

ERVEN : This man challenged Israel and made fun of them, but Jonathan killed this man. (This was Jonathan, the son of David's brother Shimei.)
